The Curse of the QB

If you spot the likes of Matt Leinart, Vince Young, Alex Smith, or Jake Delhomme wearing their i-Pods on the sidelines tomorrow, they’re no doubt all zoning out to the same Oscar winning tune: “It’s Hard Out Here for a Pimp.”

This season, no one is going down (not like that) faster than the certified studs of the NFL; the quarterback. Nearly half the QBs expected to start this season have been sidelined for one reason or another. Forget “Pimps Up, Hoes Down.” This year’s theme is “2nd String Up, Starters Down.” In fact, things have gotten so bad that some teams are desperately turning to backups for their backups. Below we show you the shake up across the league at the #1 position on offense.

Out for the Season:

Jake Delhomme, Car.-Elbow Injury

Trent Green-Miami-Concussion

Matt Leinart, AZ-Collarbone Fracture

Michael Vick-Atl.-Stupidity

Out Until his “Bo-Bo” Heals:

David Carr-Back Strain

J.P. Lossman, Buff.-Knee Sprain (Been there…hey oh!)

Josh McCown, Oak-Broken Toe

Alex Smith, SF-Separated Shoulder

Kurt Warner, AZ-Torn Ligament

Vince Young, TN-Right Quad

On Again-Off Again:

Rex Grossman, Chi-Suckyness

Joey Harrington, Atl.-Suckyness/Bad Receivers

Steve McNair-Back Injury

So hang in there Drew Brees. As you go, so does our season….
