Well Saints fans, it looks like the fate of our offense will literally be in the hands of Devery Henderson, Lance Moore and David Patten for the next month and a half. According to the Associated Press, Marques Colston had surgery on his left thumb and will be out until at least week five of the NFL season. Hating it!
Perhaps this latest news explains why we saw so little of Colston on Sunday. He apparently tore a ligament in his thumb at some point during the game. He got hit in the hand by the helmet of one of those Buccaneer bastards while going in for a catch. ARRRRGGGHHHH!!!!!!
Of course, this doesn’t mean the season’s over. After all, most of our upcoming opponents had probably logged hours of game tape to plot out ways to contain Colston. So much for that. What it does mean is that Devery MUST be consistent in shedding his “butterfinger” ways. David Patten will also have to step up as the leader of the wide receiving corps. After all, he’s the guy with the Super Bowl ring. Lance Moore’s been waiting 3 seasons for an opportunity to prove himself. Well Lance, now’s your chance…you sexy beast.
So it’s not time to hit the panic button. It is however time for the offense to sharpen up. We don’t have much room for error. It’ll be interesting to see how things go down this weekend against the Redskins. I’ll be doing my part at FedEx field spreading gris-gris on Jason Campbell and company.

A. That’s a big problem. BIG. Jon Runyan big. Yikes.
B. You’re coming to the DC area this weekend? Drop me an email!
I mean, we’ve still got Robert Meachem, right? Right? RIGHT?!?!?
we got him, but will we play him???
