They say leadership starts at the top. Saints defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs learned that lesson the hard way. The Saints have kicked his ass to the curb after yet another dismal season defensively. And to that we say “good-bye…and good riddance.”

You see while we weren’t among the throngs of fans calling for his head, we’re certainly not going to shed tears over his firing. If it’s broke…fix it. But don’t stop there. Weed out the weak links on the team. Seek out impressive free agents and be willing to dig deep (very deep) into your pockets to lure them to New Orleans. Get aggressive on draft day and make the necessary moves to get the necessary pieces to fix this muddled defensive puzzle.

If nothing else, the past two seasons have proven to us that a good offense alone won’t cut it. A quarterback who puts up an average of 316 yards per game just isn’t enough. Hell not even a solid running game to balance said high powered offense is the secret to a postseason birth. If the Saints can’t stop other teams from putting up as much points as they’re capable of producing, all that offensive fire power ain’t worth a pile of steaming pigeon poop.

If we want our defense to move anywhere beyond it’s 23rd ranking, it’ll take more than firing Gary Gibbs. Sean Payton and Mickey Loomis, it’s still your move.

Now who am I going to randomly, condescendingly insert into EVERY single one of my posts, i don’t know.

Perhaps you’re hinting toward Ed Reed at safety. That could take us back to the days of Sammy Knight. Those were the good ol safety days…………………too bad the offense sucked.

PS: This joker looks like a kid here!
