Only the swearing in of a new President could keep a Chick away from her huddle. Though I’m still thawing from a frigid night in DC, fortunate not to have lost a pinky toe to frost bite, and fatigued from a careful mixture of sleep deprivation and alcohol poisoning, I’ve realized I can’t keep pretending the NFL season isn’t almost over. We know our Super Bowl contenders and we couldn’t be more indifferent. Go Cards (or Steelers)! Whatev.
Meanwhile, in light of recent “developments”, Nola Chick has decided to volunteer her services as the personal driver for Jon Vilma. The thought of Vilma going to court to face reckless driving charges sickens me to the core. I mean, if you’re going to arrest one of our players, let it be for shooting themselves in a club or forcing animals to fight…not for some pissant traffic violation. Arrest me Miami PD!!! Let Nola Chick take it for the team! (Not like that, you pervs.)
Back to the Super Bowl, anybody else annoyed it’s the Cards and not us? I mean really. We’re both teams that were “all offense” for much of the season. (Their defense ranked 19th while ours ranked 23rd). We both ended with mediocre records. (9-7 vs 8-8). And while our running game ranked 28th, Arizona’s ranked dead last. So where did we go wrong, other than being in the wrong division? Oh wait, that’s pretty much it.
Who knows, maybe our defense would have come alive in the postseason just as Arizona’s did. Maybe we would have won the turnover battle handily. Maybe we’d run the ball with success. Maybe. Just maybe.
In the meantime, we’ll have to see if the Cardinals can write their ticket out of the elite club of teams never to have won the big game. Since misery loves company, I might have to be a Steelers fan come Super Bowl Sunday. Oh who am I kidding. In a lot of ways, January 20th was my Super Bowl.

Handle your business Cards! (Or don’t…I truly, truly could care less.)

Wake me on draft day.
Glad you recovered from the trip to DC – I cant wait to hear what you have to say about the Bucs getting rid of Gruden. Is that going to help or hurt us? The only reason I can appreciate the Cards is that they handed the Panthers a crushing loss and I was overjoyed! And being in N Carolina I wasnt very popular
