Easing the Pain

APTOPIX Giants Cowboys FootballYes, football season is over. But don’t think of it that way. Think of it as the beginning of the most positive era of a football fan’s life: the offseason. This is when our team is undefeated. This is when we can say statements like “Yeah, all they really need is a few roster adjustments. I think this is the year” and actually mean it.

The offseason is like the courtship phase of a budding romance. There’s a nervous excitement that comes with the unknown. Who could resist the “will they, won’t they, Ross and Rachel-esque” anxiety of how the Saints will handle the whole Deuce McAllister situation? Things are still fun and flirty with new defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. Everyone’s hopeful and in the back of their minds they can’t help but think…”this time will be the one.” Oh, and not to mention the greatly increased odds of more Marques Colston shirtless photo shoots.

So cheer up fellow fans, the best is yet to come! After all, things could be worse. Our economy could be going to hell in a hand-basket and our cities could be turning into mini-war zones. Oh, wait a minute…

Yeah, I’m gonna need another dose of Marques.
