Random Steelers News

Stanley Cup Red Wings Penguins HockeyHow ’bout dem Stillers? Hey, hold on, wait a second, how ’bout dem Penguins??? Yeah, it’s been an awesome year to be a Pittsburgher. I wouldn’t be true to my city if I couldn’t rub it in a little. Sixburgh and Hockey Town…if only the Pirates could get up to snuff…

Anyway, on to some Steelers news. Max Starks, our offensive tackle, just signed a 4-year, $26.3 million contract. Not bad at all. He’s hoping to start at left tackle and protect Big Ben from getting some more concussions.

Cornerback Fernando Bryant for the Steelers just retired. He played for like two games. I’m sure your lives are so much more enlightened after reading this.

We signed several draft picks as well: tight end David Johnson, wide receiver Mike Wallace, defensive lineman Sonny Harris, and center A.Q. Shipley. Shipley’s the kid from Moon, so good for Shipley. Looks like the team is getting the young talent it so desperately needs.

Finally, I must congratulate Pittsburgh, the Penguins, and all hockey fans.

We really are the City of Champions. Pittsburgh has gotten a lot of crap in the past, from the pollution to the astronomical taxes to the collapse of the steel industry to the lack of single people, but sports are the ties that bind. I really can’t remember a better year for sports for da Burgh.
