Uhh Filet Dolphin anybody?
The pre-season is over? Wait…it is? Oh so this came counts? So that means we’re gonna show up and show out…yeaaaah.
Falcons fans have been waiting for this game since we got Tony Gonzalez, lets be honest. Pre-season is cute but we’re impatient here in Atlanta (You know this if you’ve ever driven on any interstate in the Metro area) and we’re ready for some FOOTBALL! This sunday at 1 we’re playing the Miami Dolphins in the Georgia Dome. *sigh* Can you just give us this W now so we can not skip church to fight game day traffic?
Lets look at the obvious-our strength is our Offense. We have 5 players in the top 100 of the NFL according to the AJC: Tight end Tony Gonzalez (10th), running back Michael Turner (42nd), quarterback Matt Ryan (63rd), wide receiver Roddy White (87th) and defensive end John Abraham 93rd). Note that 4 of those were offensive positions. We’re beasting! Now Chad Pennington is noteworthy, but a QB with nobody to pass/throw to is as useful as a underwater basketweaver. Ronnie Brown and Rickey Williams canNOT compete with the likes of TonyG and Roddy White. Sorry no. Even in his ROOKIE season #s wise Matt Ryan had 265 completions and 16 TDs and a measly 11 interceptions. And lets be honest, Pennington had better stats that Ryan, but looking at the offense as a whole, Pennington is the only player that can compete with Falcons stats. 1…. Tisk Tisk
Now…we know that we’ve had our Defensive struggles-BUT we’re actually pretty evenly matched up-except in one category…
Rush yards per game allowed…ouch. Have we fixed these problems? I sure as heck hope so. Drafting was heavily concentrated on defensive players, and our returners have also improved. I still think its going to come down to offense. Especially since our defenses are pretty even. All in all, you know who I have taking the W.
Falcons Fans make sure you arrive early and plan for traffic, its going to be yucky out there. Atlanta Falcons Twitter advised the all fans to remember the following: Downtown Connector: Expect Major NB Delays this Weekend
9 pm Fri. – 5 am Mon. Sept. 11-14: Major northbound lane closures on I-75/I-85 between 10th St. and the Brookwood Interchange. Those traveling to special events downtown should take MARTA. Motorists passing through Atlanta should AVOID I-75/I-85 NB and use I-285 instead.

I voted for the Falcons this week on outlastfootball.com.
I’ve made 100% successful spread picks so far– I think I’m going to start my own blog!
