In correlation with the NFL’s support of breast cancer, the Buffalo Bills will be showing support in their own way with the fourth annual “Billieve” Breast Cancer Awareness Program. They partnered with Kaleida Health, the Western New York Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Zeta Tau Alpha and the Bills Women’s Association to make it happen and will kickoff the program on Sunday.
Tons of pregame activities are planned, including a pink ribbon distribution to fans at the entrance gates (SO EXCITED!), breast cancer survivors on the field forming Stampede Row, pink coin for coin toss and the presentation of a special pink game ball. Keep an eye out for the Jills wearing pink jerseys and using pink pom-poms. There will be pink goal post padding, Billieve banners on the ring wall and ribbon logos painted on the field. Players will also use pink cleats, wristbands, gloves, sideline caps, Captain’s patches and sideline and quarterback towels.
Basically, I will be in my own pink bliss. I love pink. It will be like heaven. I normally want to throw up when I see pink paired with football, but this is a great excuse to make it work!
Fans can rock “Billieve” gear too, thanks to the Bills’ retail partner that will sell “Billieve” merchandise like pink tees, hats, knit caps, mini-helmets and other pink-themed Reebok items.
There will also be a player autograph session on Monday, Oct.12 from 6 to 7 p.m. to promote breast cancer awareness month via the new pink-themed product line at the Bills Store. Fans must present at least one “Billieve” item to be autographed by the players.
Some fans are already latching on to “Billieve” in more ways than one. My twitter BFF Megan modeled her sign for Sunday’s game after the slogan and only got moderately high on Sharpies while doing so. Check out her lovely sign below!
