*Le Sigh* Yet another edition of Jets Chick Hit it and Quit it where there really isn’t much to say because the game came down to one thing going sideways.
Hit it: Braylon Edwards. Just wow. I guess all those people who were in my ear talking about his propensity to drop passes and him generally not being very good (hence why the Jets didn’t have to give much up to get him) are pretty quiet right now. Great first game.
Quit it: Swiss Cheesing! The defense gave up 4 touchdowns in one game after giving up 4 over the first four weeks of the season. Not good.
Hit it: Thomas Jones. After weeks of being pretty much non existant in the offensive scheme he finally broke out and scored. Twice! Good job.
Quit it: Goal line failure. They couldn’t stop the run or stop the Dolphins from scoring in the red zone for love or money. Maddening, considering they’d been doing it all season. Just one would have ended this game totally differently than it did.
Hit it: NO TURNOVERS. While this may seem like common sense to most, Mark Sanchez proved last week that he is more rookie than phenom so he needed an error free game in order to redeem himself.
It was a great game that ended badly for me. I’m sure I’ll get over it by Sunday, but until then, in spite of all they did right, this week was more Quit than Hit.
