Bills vs Panthers: Who wants it more?

I want to see more of this, this week!

I want to see more of this, this week!

If you go by records, the Bills (2-4) and Panthers (2-3) are about equal teams. Last week Carolina beat Tampa Bay and Week 2 we beat Tampa Bay. However, I’m gonna go out on a limb and say that we are actually the superiors in this match up. Here’s why.

-Carolina’s QB Jake Delhomme has gotten progressively worse as the weeks go on. He leads the NFL with 10 interceptions, has the fourth worst passer rating and struggles even more in the fourth quarter and on third downs. This is all GREAT news for the Bills. Our pass defense is on point (ranked fourth in the league) and prone to making interceptions. Rookie Jairus Byrd will be looking to extend his pick count into it’s third straight week and with two against Sanchez, the odds are looking pretty good.

-While our pass game didn’t really exist until the second half of last week’s game, it does now. With Fitzpatrick starting in place of Edwards, that means we’ll actually see the ball fly through the air. Last week he did a good job connecting with Evans and since Evans only needs 29 yards to reach 5,000 in his career, I think both will be eager to make this happen. Demetrius Bell just needs to attach himself to Julius Peppers, the most athletic pass rusher he’s been matched against…doing that without a million penalties would be ideal.

-Freddy J has officially replaced Roscoe Parrish as punt returner. I think this means we won’t have to suffer through any ridiculously amateur game-defining fumbles and might actually have decent field position and maybe even a TD return. Sounds good to me!

-The Panthers run game is supposedly as good as ours. But, while our run D is improving, theirs is still struggling. If we can contain DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart we should have no problem staying ahead. If Jauron puts Freddy J in there more often than Marshawn Lynch, we could actually recreate the dynamic run game we had during the first three weeks–and yes, I DO mean to sound like a broken record and I will continue to sound like one until Jauron listens to me. I am 100% right here and I mean, you’d think he’d like some help in closing out his career with some dignity.

-The Panthers’ top tackle Thomas Davis is questionable and didn’t practice Friday with a hamstring injury. If he doesn’t play tomorrow, the scenario that has the Bills as winners keeps getting better and better. We need all the help we can get since our O-line is incapable of providing adequate protection.

-Last, but not least, we have a ton of talent and we just need to a) use it b) finish the game c) play like we want to make a mid-season turnaround.

GO BILLS!!! =D
