Phew! We scraped out a win, but this Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay was up and down like a bucking bronco. The offense was great at times, miserable at times. The defense was brilliant at times, terrible at times. Here are some of those ups and some of those downs.
Hit It: Coach Sparano’s decision to bench Joey Porter. How can he stop the run, when he can’t contain the crap running out of his own mouth?
Quit It: Coach Sparano’s decision to throw on 3rd and 7 when up by 6 points with less than two minutes to go in the game. Don’t blame Chad Henne for that crazy pass to an imaginary receiver. That’s ALL Sparano!
Hit It: The running game. Ronnie’s 45 yd run, Ricky’s 2nd half play, especially the final 27 yard run to set up the winning FG!
Quit It: Pat White and trick plays. Once a game is too much, much less three straight snaps! Why did we waste roster space with this guy? Even Michael Vick would be an upgrade. (On second thought, let’s not go there…)
Hit It: The defense. Three sacks in the first half, Charlie Anderson’s two forced fumbles, Jason Taylor’s INT.
Quit It: The defense. The 2nd half misery – weak pass defense, way too many missed tackles and blown coverages.
Hit It: TE Kory Sperry. From practice squad workhorse to thoroughbred receiver! Three key grabs. That’s three times the productivity of Ted Ginn, Jr! No wait, that’s not right – 3 times 0 is ZERO!
Quit It: Ted Ginn, Jr. The biggest reason our passing game is nearly non-existent. Only earns his pay when his starting job is taken from him. In 9 games he’s had a measly 19 catches, 218 yards, and 1 receiving TD.
Hit It: Dan Carpenter. He scored 13 of our 25 points on Sunday. Has more talent in one foot than Ginn has in two hands.
Quit It: Third and long situations. They know we’re going to pass. Worse, still, they know we can’t pass!
Hit It: The offensive line. The front five did not allow the Bucs a single sack.
Quit It: The offense. This bumbling, stumbling unit is truly offensive! It can’t sustain drives and visits the red zone about as often as Troy Polamalu visits his barber.
Hit It: Dolphins win!
Hit It Again: Jets lose! Bills lose!
Hit It, Baby, One More Time: Pats lose! Forget being smarter than a fifth grader! Bill Belichick takes the cake this week on Are You Dumber Than Tony Sparano?

So, the Dolphins are looking good lately. Tell me. What can we expect from the Dolphins in the future? I mean, future future. How young a team are we? Can we count on having strong foundations (the offensive and defensive lines) for years to come with the talent we have? Fishing for info. Thanks.
