Turkey Day Catastrophe

No heroics or theatrics in this game, folks. Well, not from the Lions anyway.

Aaron Rodgers and Donald Driver? Their connections were electric!
But my boys? Out to lunch…or dinner, what have you. *shrugs*

I know you felt as though you were being force fed this game…but please admit that you were a little hopeful, coming off last Sunday’s last-minute hat trick and 5 TD passes for Stafford.

But this week, he was back at it, back to the INTs. I understand his non-throwing shoulder was separated, so I give him credit for being a trooper. He and CJ missed practice all week and still made the starting lineup. BUT if you know you don’t feel well enough to play, be a man and sit down in order to give the team a chance!

I won’t blame Stafford entirely though, because the O-Line lost this game for us. OMG did you see all the scrambling this man had to do???? It looked like a big game of tag, with him weaving and running all over the place, no daylight in sight.

And as much credit as I’d like to give Calvin Johnson, he has some work to do, too. Those Packers defenders were all over him, and apparently none of the other receivers or tight ends could manage to get open either. Many times Stafford simply had no one to throw to.

O-Line, here’s the concept: On the snap, you grab somebody on the other team and block them from getting to your QB. You don’t step aside, clear a path and say, “Hey, let me introduce you to our quarterback.” *gee-whiz*

Staff took some scary sacks, considering his “fragile” state (which he’s faking, if you let Eric Mangini tell it), but I’ll give it up to Green Bay’s defense for repeatedly shutting the Lions’ down inside the red zone, when we were close enough to score.

34-12…that’s how things turned out. At least the half-time show was interesting. No, wait….actually, it wasn’t. Maybe I was thinking of last year’s show with Jesse McCartney…cuz I can’t name one. single. solitary. person who sang in yesterday’s rousing “Motown Revue.”

Rest up boys – Green Bay served up some roasted Lion loins for Thanksgiving, (gulp) but Sunday’s a new day. Right???

I was rooting for the Lions–I thought they had it in the first quarter. Stafford seriously earned some respect playing hurt, though.
