The Dolphins had a great opportunity on Sunday when they faced Buffalo. A win at Buffalo and a New England loss to the Saints (which DID happen) would have given them a chance to compete with New England next week at home for AFC East bragging rights. A girl can dream right? Well, as it turned out, Sunday’s game was more like a nightmare. It was a game I’d like to forget. I hope the Dolphins can shake it off and move forward, because we are down, but we’re still not quite out. (Yes, I know I’m a glutton for punishment!)
Here are some of the ups (there weren’t many) and a few of the downs (there were way too many!) from the showdown in Buffalo:
Hit It: Ricky Williams. Ricky had his third consecutive game gaining 100-yards or more. He’s the most consistent player we’ve got right now. I wish everyone performed like Ricky.
Hit It: Lex Hilliard. This guy is going to be a one heck of a football player. I was impressed with his play again this week. I think he caught the ball each time it came his way, and he ran with confidence each time he carried the ball.
Quit It: Stupid play calling. I say it every week. Tony Sparano is an idiot. See my post-game write-up from any given week. If Bill Parcels can build it, Tony Sparano can tear it down.
Quit It: 4th Quarter collapse. I feel like a broken record. Hey, Mr. “D”-jay, spin a different tune!
Quit It: Tedd Ginn, Jr. I’m so tired of seeing you drop passes, buddy. I think you caught 2 of the 5 balls that came your way. And one of those drops was a big mistake. You also had a false start. Unfortunately, we don’t have many other options at WR. If we did, I think you’d be limited to special teams play. I’ll let you off the hook as soon as you have two decent games back-to-back. Tick, tock, Teddy boy. Tick, tock…
Alright, folks. That’s all she wrote for this week! Here’s hoping next week is a different story.
