Mark Sanchez has a sprained PCL. He left the game with it in the third quarter, after not sliding per Joe Girardi’s instructions.
On the bright side, he didn’t have any interceptions, and outside of missing an obviously open Cotchery in the end zone and throwing the ball away, at 7/15 104 yards and one TD-it wasn’t a bad performance from him.
People can’t seem to stop talking about the dropped pass to Edwards that also “should” have been six, and to hear the fans tell it-the Jets left 21 points on the field last night. He did make up for it with a touchdown later on, and they did manage to be more effective in the red zone after their first three trips resulted in field goals
Had they lost these would be issues, but in a win, I find it better to focus on the positives. Like the running game. Thomas Jones and Shonn Greene ran for 109 and 59 yards respectively, and rang up a total of over 500 rushing yards on the season against the Bills.
Darrelle Revis made T.O. look like an also ran, holding him to three catches for 31 yards. He also came away with an INT in the 4th quarter that sealed the game for the Jets.
David Harris had a great game as well, recording eight tackles and a sack. Shaun Ellis got in on the sack party as well, adding two to the teams total.
A good performance overall. The Jets avoid bottom feeding in the division, and win their second game in a row. Next up? An uncomfortable Sunday where I will be pulling for Miami against NE, and the waiting on more news about Mark Sanchez’ knee.
Beats spending the next ten days sulking over a loss right?
