Colts vs. Broncos…3 more to perfection?

dallasclarkWell the boys in blue got it done on Sunday defeating the Broncos 28-16, breaking NFL records for most consecutive regular-season wins with 22 and most wins in a decade at 114, plus wrapping up home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.

Manning and the Colts O were hot early with a TD pass to Austin Collie and 2 to his favorite tight end Dallas Clark, Clark broke his own single-season team tight end records for receptions and yards. Peyton then had three un-Manninglike interceptions. He hasn’t thrown that many INTs in one game since having a career-high six at San Diego in November 2007. Weird…I know. But somehow…some way they keep winning and will keep on winning unless…they sit their starters. The Colts are 3 wins away from a perfect regular season, but at this point in the season many coaches realize playing your stars can only lead to injuries heading into the playoffs. If they do sit they could lose their chance at history. Start them and you risk the worst. Someone getting hurt on this injury prone team.

But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. The Colts have been here before. Indy also was 13-0 in 2005 before losing three of the last four, including a divis1onal-round playoff game to Pittsburgh. They’ve got a LONG way to go!
