‘Twas the week before Christmas,
with their team on a roll,
Who Dat fans had one mission:
“Black and Gold Super Bowl.”

Saints stockings were hung by the chimney with care,
with hopes a Lombardi Trophy would make its way there.
Their team had no time for running their mouths,
they were too busy crushing the NFC South.

When out in the dome there arose such a noise.
It was owner Tom Benson shouting, “Bless you boys!”
And with that the Saintsations started to cheer.
For it -finally- looked like “next year” was here.

It’s been 42 years of misery and pain,
bad luck, bad drafts, taunting, and shame.
Time to turn in those brown bags, no longer the “Aints.”
It’s time to believe in the New Orleans Saints!

These fans have been waiting from Hargett to Manning.
Through Stabler and Hebert and Brooks they’ve been planning.
They’ve yearned to be champions, to be number one.
So they turned to a QB to be the top gun.

Drew Brees is his name, in him they can trust.
He saved this poor team that was once such a bust.
With Colston, Thomas, Meachem and a new “D” in tow,
He’ll help bring a Super Bowl ring to N.O.

This new gift of winning gave fans an escape
from shady contractors and FEMA red tape.
So they grabbed their umbrellas while dancing with glee.
Smiling down from the skies was their man Buddy D.

On Reggie, on Shockey, on Vilma and Bell.
This must be the year things freeze over in hell!
The Saints are undefeated, to the playoffs they’ll go!
They might end their season 19 and 0!

Brees formed a huge huddle and started his chant,
giving chest bumps to Devery, Sharper, and Grant.
I heard Payton exclaim as they marched out of sight.
We’re coming Miami! See you Super Bowl night!
