Week 16, Miami vs. Houston: Failure! Mission Aborted!

Miami  20 -  Houston 27

fig107Houston, we have stop! Critical Failure!  The Miami Dolphins will not launch themselves into the playoffs.  Instead, they’ll remain grounded.  Mission aborted!

What a digusting 1st half of football!  Miami gave up over 300 yards to Houston’s offense, allowing Schaub to connect on 14 of 18 passes, 247 yards, and 2 TDs.  The Miami offense gained only 107 yards, and the running game was never established.  The Dolphins defense was sleeping like Rip Van Winkle….(that’s a really long time).  We went down 27-0, and trailed at the half 27-3.  I was ready to go spend my afternoon doing something other than watching my team lose.  But, I decided to give the Dolphins some time to turn it around.

By the time the Miami defense (and offense) awoke, the game was too far gone.  There was too little, too late in the 2nd half for the Dolphins.  Too bad, too, because the defense played well! Miami made it an exciting game, but there were too many QB sacks, too many badly thrown passes, too many drops, and too many bad calls by the officials for the Dolphins to win the ball game. Never in my life have I seen a guy (Houston’s Chris Brown)  catch the ball, take as many as three steps, and fumble, only to have the referees call it an incomplete pass! Wow! That’s one of the most bizarre calls I’ve ever seen from an officiating crew.  Still, blind referees aside, the Dolphins just can’t manage to keep from beating themselves with mistakes this year.

Bah, humbug!

I wish I had stopped watching the game at the half!

Tony Sparano, get out of Dodge!

This is a great column. Good for you. You are far more entertaining that a football team! Keep up the good work. The Dolphins could learn a lot
    from you.
