Two wins in a row! It’s a real-live win streak!
Hit It. Caddy Williams (with an assist from Greg Olson). Caddy ran for 129 yards on 24 carries. That’s right, Caddy had the hot hand, and Olson let him carry the ball 24 times. Sounds like a no-brainer, but believe me, it’s taken 15 games to learn the lesson.
Quit It. Penalties. It’s well-documented that games played in New Orleans are insanely loud, so miscommunication will happen. But the Bucs’ history of sloppy, penalty-prone play makes me less sympathetic. For instance, Jeremy Trueblood increased his league-lead for false start penalties by one. Quit-gratulations are clearly in order. (That’s like a cross between Quit It and Congratulations, you see…)
Hit It. The Defense. Last time we played New Orleans, the defense allowed 38 points. This time they allowed 17. Which is less than half as many points. Who said I wasn’t a stats analyst?
Quit It. Poor Tackling. Sabby, I’m looking at you. You’re lucky Garrett Hartley missed that field goal.
Hit It. Micheal Spurlock (with an assist from Bucs Chick-favorite Rich Bisaccia). Signed to the team midweek. Scored the game-tying touchdown on a punt return on Sunday. Now them’s some special teams. Good coaching, Rich!
Quit It. Bill Cowher. The Bucs play their biggest game of the year, and the papers only want to talk about Bill. Great. Probably the Glazers will talk to Bill, get his word that he’ll coach the Bucs, fire Raheem, and then Bill will back out, and we’ll have to swipe Tom Cable from the Raiders. Just saying, the Bucs have been here before.
Hit It. Two wins in a row, did I mention? And this one was earned against a good team! (Sorry, Seahawks.)
