Saints Flash: Rickey Jackson Makes It to the Hall of Fame

First, our boys are finally in the game to end all games and now we have a bonafide Saints player nominated to the 2010 NFL Hall of Fame. Well, just bless my lil ole heart and let me die a happy death.

Earlier today, former Saints linebacker and core of the Dome Patrol, Rickey Jackson was elected to this glorious group joining six others: Emmit Smith, Jerry Rice, John Randle, Russ Grimm, Floyd Little, and Dick LeBeau.

Jackson spent the majority of his career with the Saints and along with Sam Mills, Vaughan Johnson, and Pat Swilling formed the Dome Patrol, the greatest linebacking corps the NFL has ever seen. Their image still stands in the current Saints locker room as a motivational tool.

He will be inducted into the shrine on August 7.
