Locked Out and Locked Up

Hmm…maybe Ray Lewis really was on to something. Remember a few months ago the terrifying Ravens linebacker insisted in an interview that the longer the lockout lasted, the more likely players would get into trouble. Well, if you look at the numbers, Lewis doesn’t seem quite as psycho anymore. Just this week, Steelers superstar Hines Ward added his name to a growing list of NFL players proving the danger of idle minds…and bodies. Ward was arrested for DUI in DeKalb County, Georgia. But don’t be too hard on the Dancing with the Stars stud. When it comes to NFL stars being accused of making stupid decisions while their season hangs in the balance, Ward’s got plenty of company. Here’s a quick sampling.

Adam “Pacman” Jones, Bengals Cornerback
Arrested July 10th on misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct while intoxicated and resisting arrest

Raheem Brock, Eagles DE
Arrested for walking out on a $27 bar tab in Philadelphia

Kenny Britt, Titans WR
Arrested for the 2nd time for resisting arrest on suspicion of drug possession.

Garrett Wolfe, Bears RB
Charged with retail theft and disorderly conduct at a Miami club back in May

Albert Haynesworth, Redskins DL
Charged with misdemeanor sex abuse for allegedly fondling a restaurant server’s breast in February

William Moore, Falcons Safety
Charged with speeding and driving with a suspended license

Kenny Britt, Titans WR
Accused of trying to escape police while being pulled over speeding. (Irony!)

Mike Vrabel, KC Linebacker
Arrested and charged with theft from an Indian Casino

And that’s not even the half of it. For the complete list, check out this rundown of lockout losers.
