Free Agent Fun…
Ah the Jets…so close to greatness and yet again so far. They’re making some pretty decent deals in spite of some hand tying because of this uncapped year.
First off, shoring up the oft charted territory opposite Revis Island. The Jets let Lito Sheppard and Donald Strickland go, and traded a 2011 third round draft pick (that could escalate to a second round pick if he plays well) to gain the services of Antonio Cromartie from the San Diego Chargers.
He had 33 tackles and 3 picks last season with the Chargers, and at 25 years old has a great upside.
Holy Cow!

The Jets are going to the AFC Championship game after “shocking” the San Diego Chargers yesterday.
Oddly enough, the only ones that aren’t completely shocked are Jet fans. In spite of their stellar eleven game winning streak to end the regular season, the Bolts went the way of the Dodo bird, and fell off the face of the earth when it counted most.
The folks on television will just say that they didn’t play well. Hell even Shawne Merriman claims they beat themselves. An odd comment, considering the other team on the field was not dressed in Chargers blue.
A Playoff Hit it & Quit it…Jets Style

Since I find myself moving into rarely charted territory this week, I have to say it pleases me intensely to find myself still able to talk about my team…so:
Hit it: A Playoff win for my three favorite Rookies! Ryan, Sanchez, and Greene all delivered this week. Sanchez played mistake free football-and even added a touchdown pass to Dustin Keller. Greene contributed with 135 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries.
Quit it: Trying to catch passes this side of Revis Island. Chad Ochcocinco (nee: Johnson) was once again held in check-with two catches for a total of 28 yards, and was also the intended recipient when Revis actually picked the ball off.
Do You Believe In Magic?

I don’t, and I haven’t been able to get myself together and preview this game because I have been a bundle of overjoyed and scared nerves since last Sunday night.
I’ve been here before, watched a first year coach lead the Jets into the playoffs, only to see them shown the door early. It’s always upsetting and hurtful, but somewhere deep down inside I always know it’s going to happen.
So why am I scared today? Because I don’t feel that way. I’m optimistic as hell that having the number one rushing offense and number one defense in the league is going to be enough to counteract the Bengals getting back some key players, and playing at home.
Hit it and Quit it…A Jets Love Fest

I can’t even think of anything to say so just…
Hit It: Making the playoffs rawks. Especially when you consider the mostly down and sometimes up season the Jets had.
Quit it: Games being played in the Meadowlands. Good riddance.
Hit it: Mark Sanchez didn’t turn the ball over. This pleases me intensely.
Quit it: People talking about how the Bengals pulled all their players in the second half so this game doesn’t count. The Jets were up 27-0 with the good players in.
