This Just In…The Colts Need Freeney
So I’ve held off writing about this because I feel like he’s a big tease. Who? My husband Dwight Freeney. No we aren’t married but I wouldn’t mind if we were. All week he’s been saying he “hopes” to play in the Super Bowl. Well don’ t we all.
Freeney injured his ankle in the AFC Championship Game nine days ago. He said chances of him practicing the rest of the week are not good. It’s day two and no practice yet. He’s listed as questionable on the Colts’ injury report and is the only starter on either team who might 
miss the game because of injury. He hasn’t decided whether he’ll take an injection in the foot that might help reduce the pain and allow him to play against the Saints. TAKE THE SHOT DWIGHT!
AFC Championship Recap: Colts remind Jets who they are…now let’s cue the Peyton and Archie video…Ughhhh!
We’ve all seen it. We saw it when Peyton was the big time college star. We saw it when he DIDN’T win the Heisman that he was supposed to. We saw it when he was drafted #1 in the NFL draft and we see it any time he does something that his dad Archie didn’t do. What is it? The video clip of Peyton in the Saints uniform as a kid. Let’s get the storyline out of the way. New Orleans own Peyton Manning will take on his dad’s former team in the Super Bowl. We good now? Great! Now back to how this happened.
So We Meet Again…Jets vs. Colts Preview
The last time these two teams met it was MAJOR drama! The New York Jets ended the Colts’ pursuit of perfection and their NFL-record 23-game winning streak with a 29-15 victory on December 27th. This win not only slowed the Colts down but it gave the Jets just the shot they needed to get into the playoffs. The Colts coaching staff sat the starters in the third quarter with a 5 point lead. That decision is the primary reason the Jets are in the playoffs. New York, which needed to win both of its final two games to qualify for the postseason, was in a tough spot early in the third quarter at that time in the game. It trailed the Colts 15-10 and had been outgained 254-115 in total yards and 17-7 in first downs. Then fate struck and the Jets went on to win the game. Guess what Colts…THEY’RE BACK!!
Ravens vs. Colts Recap: Eight (and Counting) is Enough!
Best quote I heard about this game. When the Ravens defense is *messing* up…it’s a WRAP. Well EXCUSE me Colts! So much for that rust I talked about! I stand corrected. The Colts came to play Saturday night and boy did they?! Peyton Manning and the Colts defeated the red hot Baltimore Ravens 20-3 and now must sit and wait for their AFC Championship opponent. This game marked the first time Manning won a playoff game after a first-round bye.
