Buying into the Bucs Fantasy?
It’s almost fantasy football time, and to kick off this year I’m starting with a small but fundamental decision: To Buc or not to Buc.
Thing is, this is a new dilemma for me. Over the past few years, there have been very, very few Buccaneers worth drafting. Sure, the defense was always solid, but the team hasn’t exactly been an offensive juggernaut. I remember scouring last year’s mock drafts for a Buc—any Buc—and the top prospect tended to be Earnest Graham in the fourth round followed by Joey Galloway in the eighth or ninth round. Not great. But this year the Bucs have a few potentially decent fantasy prospects, including tight end Kellen Winslow (who may also be the team’s third receiver), wide receiver and last year’s comeback kid Antonio Bryant (who is playing for a long-term contract), and Giants-transplant running back Derrick Ward.
Dirty Tid-Bits
Lots of small news…no big news…so I’ll let you guys and dolls know whats what
- Michael Vick officially released from his contract with the Falcons…I suppose this is news but everybody already knew this was coming, so its not a ‘big’ as it seems.
Vick is still suspended from the NFL as well, so the contract release is kind of 2nd fiddle. - Georgia Dome gets new widescreen TV screens for our viewing pleasure, unless of course you have end-zone seats, then you’d better have 20/20 vision!
Fantasy Smackdown
It’s week one of the “Chicks in the Huddle Fantasy Football Smackdown™” and thus far, the Houston Equinox is trampling the competition. (I’ll attribute that to the fact that Nola Chick’s “Fear Itself” squad had a bye week, but alas.) The Fallen Angels may be on the verge of falling even farther now that Tom Brady’s out for the season. And the Hollygrove Hustlers wasted no time “tapping the Rockies” against Denver’s finest! Scoreboard: below. Trash talk: optional..but highly advised.

The Chicks Make Fantasies Come True
Can you believe we’re just weeks away from training camp and the first preseason game? (Are you still flacid? Really?) Well, how about the fact we’re just a couple months from the start of the regular season? Oh my…I’m getting all schweaty just thinkin about it!
While Clinton Portis is out looking for a new way to emasculate himself, 
we’re focusing our energies on the ultimate NFL fantasy…Fantasy Football wit da Chicks! That’s right…we’re draftin’ em, startin’ em’, sittin’ em, and somebody’s gonna win a fat wad of cash!
