Bills Chick plays catch-up

leeWhat…a…week. Bills Chick’s life has been crazy. Buffalo Bills world is crazy. The NFL itself is pretty crazy lately. So, let’s play a quick game of catch-up so that we can finally get back on track.

Sunday’s 41-17 spectacle against the Titans was eerily, painfully and distressingly reminiscent of the Music City Miracle game (which, by the way, CBS made sure to show a clip of during the game. Thanks…). Not only was the number of times we went three-and-out epically embarrassing, but our defense even seemed to struggle and the fourth quarter…well, we’ll get into that later.

Phew! We scraped out a win, but this Sunday’s game against Tampa Bay was up and down like a bucking bronco. The offense was great at times, miserable at times. The defense was brilliant at times, terrible at times. Here are some of those ups and some of those downs.

Hit It: Coach Sparano’s decision to bench Joey Porter. How can he stop the run, when he can’t contain the crap running out of his own mouth?

Fresh off my first Suck Fest, the Jets came out firing..I know-we play to win the game, but lately the Jets have only been playing to break my heart. This week is no exception. More quit than hit, and more bad than good. Such is life right?

Hit it-I’ll think of one, give me a minute.

Quit it-Mark Sanchez opened the game with a nice INT that turned into a touchdown for the Jaguars. He doesn’t seem to have any idea where to throw the ball these days.

Hit it-Still thinking.

Hit It and Quit It Tuesday…Colts style!

APTOPIX Patriots Colts FootballWhat a win!!!! The Colts won won their 18th straight regular season game by defeating the Patriots. I couldn’t be happier. Down 34-21 in the fourth quarter, Peyton Manning led a determined comeback for Indy, moving the Colts downfield quickly before Joseph Addai ran it in from four yards deep to cut the lead to six.

Then, with time winding down and less than 20 seconds on the clock, Manning completed the comeback by finding Reggie Wayne in the endzone for the gamewinning touchdown, giving Indy the 35-34 win and maintaining their perfect record, which now moves to 9-0. But I digress.

Hit it!
Reggie Bush takes a lot of *bleep* from Saints fans (including this Nola Chick on occasion) about not being a productive enough member of the team. On Sunday in St. Louis, he was about the only offensive player producing plays that didn’t make me want to hide in my dog’s crate.

Quit it!
To Drew Brees, (all together now ESPN MNF crew), “C’mon Man!” I know missed assignments have caused problems for our quarterback over the past couple weeks but our quarterback has also caused a few problems all his own. We can’t keep waiting until the second half for the offensive wheels to get in motion. And no, I’m not being hard on our MVP. Drew agrees with me wholeheartedly.
