Hit It and Quit It, Fins Fashion

Miami 22 – New England 21. Feels so good to see it in print!
I have to admit, even though I had cast my cares aside and begged Santa for help, I didn’t have a lot of faith that I’d have a happy ending. When the Dolphins quickly fell down 14-0, I was ready to kiss the season goodbye. Same old Dolphins. Same old Patriots. Right? Well, I’m happy to say that I was wrong! We WON! All is right with the world. At least until next Sunday…
The Return of the Quit It…
Sadly, I have been shunned to the loser’s corner once again. Tennessee played a sloppy game – they were flagged for unnecessary penalties, dropped BEAUTIFUL passes, and squandered not one, but TWO fourth and goal opportunities. They had a shot to not only pull off an amazing win, but prove that they were a legitimately respectable football team. Not to mention that a six-game win streak would have felt glorious… But no. I had to endure a game filled with mistakes, embarrassment and heckling from the high-and-mighty Packers fans with whom I was watching the game. Some players attempted to play up to the level of the Colts, but others reverted back to the team that went 0-6.
Hit It (sadly enough) and Quit It…Colts defeat the Titans.
So this AFC Chick is definitely glad the Titans and the Colts are done with each other for now. I can go back to loving my Titans and hoping the best for Peyton. For the Colts there were a few things to hit:
Hit It:
- Quite frankly…remaining undefeated
- Repeat Offender Pierre Garcon. I can’t say enough about this guy. He catches EVERYTHING!
- Cotls got their record tying 21st consecutive regular season win. (Here’s hoping the pass the Patriots next week).
- Tying the 1990s 49ers for most wins in a decade at 113.
The Eagles won (YAY!), but it was otherwise bizarro week
Great game out of Mike Vick, who was personally responsible for 14 points. And that was a SWEET swing pass to Brent Celek, by the way. And a nice, if slightly underthrown, long pass to Reggie Brown (no, he’s not in the witness protection program).
Week 13, Miami vs. New England: I Believe in Santa Claus!
This game was a big one! Anticipation was killing me. I was beginning to lose hope. Desperation was setting in. Saturday, inspired by the magic of the first snow of winter here in Virginia, I felt like a little girl again. And who do little girls share their wishes and dreams with? Santa Claus. So I sat down and wrote a letter to Santa. Thankfully, Santa is high-tech and digital now, so he got my letter and went straight to work. Thank you, Santa Claus, for the most wonderful early-Christmas gift a girl could ask for! How sweet it is to beat New England!
