Chick Fights – Snarky Eagles Chick vs. NOLA Chick

It’s week 2, and two teams that trounced their opening day opponents meet at the Linc to do battle. Both the Eagles and the Saints are popular picks to win their respective divisions this year. This game should not disappoint. Yep, it’s time for this week’s Chick Fight.
Home Field Advantage: Snarky Eagles Chick
OK, first the bad: likely no McNabb Sunday. Yeah, Big Red and Big 5 are both talking big about how he might play, but I suspect that more a tactic to keep the Saints defensive coordinator off balance than a real threat. You can play through rib injuries, but why would you this early in the year, particularly when this could be a Super Bowl year (but only if we get to keep our franchise QB on the field)?
Saints Fans: A Bunch of Sellouts
We’ve come a long way from the brown bag days baby. For the 4th year in a row, the Who Dats are selling out the Dome. That’s right, all 70,000 plus seats…gone! So if you’re not a season ticket holder or the proud owner of a luxury suite, prepare to turn to an old friend called eBay or one of those ticket broker sites to catch our boys in action at home.
And they said New Orleans wouldn’t be able to support an NFL team after Hurricane Katrina.
T.O. Learns to Care
Memba Terrell Owens’ children’s book “Little T Learns to Share”? It appears it may oddly enough be based on actual events. No, #81 hasn’t said he’s quite ready to share the football in Bills country (or the spotlight for that matter.) But he did pull off a Mitzvah by doing an unusual favor (by his standards) for a worthwhile organization in New Orleans.
Safety First

The biggest surprise from the Saints so far this draft? There were no surprises. All the experts and non-experts predicted Malcolm Jenkins would get scooped up in round 1 and so he did…and thank heavens.
There are those among us who wanted to see Chris Wells, (the Cardinals inevitable choice) join our offense to give Reggie Bush a little support. Clearly those people overlooked the talent of a certain PT Bruiser, aka Pierre Thomas. Others hoped upon hope for an outside linebacker to compliment the talent of MLB Jon Vilma. Those people weren’t entirely off base.
Super Fly!
Bless you Jake, for turning me on to Saints Super Fan Fun! I finally created my avatar, but I have no idea how to capture the image. But feel free to check it out by clicking here…and don’t forget to make one of yourself!
I’d also like to say a special thank you to the Super Fan site for giving my avatar an excellent rack.
