Brandon Boykin pick-six

Eagles 54, Bears 11, Sunday, December 22, 2013 Well that was unexpected. A week after laying an egg in the Metrodome, the Eagles came out in a game that was, for them, meaningless (thanks to the Redskins who literally cannot do a single thing right this year), and utterly dismantled the Bears, who only had the NFC North title on the line. Stud of the week: man are there a lot of candidates, but I think I'm going to have to go with my boy Brandon Boykin who, after suffering a concussion last Sunday and missing most of practice this past week, came in and was his usual excellent self on special teams AND grabbed his first pick-six of the year. The points were kind of superfluous, … [Read more...]

2013 Week 16 Picks

Prime time game! (Please don't screw up, guys.) This is going to be a tough test for the Eagles. Although Jay "Picks" Cutler can be counted on to, you know, throw some picks, the Bears also have one of the best wideout duos in the NFL in Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery. And, as you may recall from the previous 3 1/2 months, the Eagles secondary is not exactly lights-out. Fortunately, the Bears defense is even worse. And the Linc is no longer poison. And the Eagles had their trap game last week. And if the Eagles can win and the Cowboys lose, the NFC East crown is back where it belongs in South Philly. And (spoiler alert!) the Eagles will know that it's all up to them by 4:30 … [Read more...]

Bears vs Packers: Welcome to Heartbreak

rodgershurt_1383620419353_3956056_ver1.0_640_480

Hey Fellow Chicks! Usually when I blog here, I write with the same general outline for every article. I want to give you all my perspective on the game, provide relevant stats from the game, highlight key players, & take a look forward to the next game. Today, I'm not going to do that. I'm not sure exactly what I'm going to do,but it won't be that. Simply put, I'm pissed. I firmly believe that in the hearts of every true Packers fan lies a deeply rooted hatred for the Chicago Bears. My hatred is intensified because I am surrounded by Bears fans everywhere I go. So anytime the two teams meet up, it's a huge deal.  Now for the last 8 years, the Bears failed to come up with a victory … [Read more...]

Saints vs. Bears: 5 and Oh But Chicago, You Had It Coming!

saints bears

I'd imagine you Chicago Bears who spent most of Sunday's game versus the Saints like this... ...woke up today feeling something like this? But not to worry. I come "bearing" good news! There's a good chance your team won't even make the playoffs and therefore don't have to worry about ever having to face the Saints again this season. You're welcome! It's hard not to gloat a little bit after beating The Windy City's team. Their quarterback is obnoxious yes but no more obnoxious than some of their fans, who apparently took to Twitter after the game spouting the same lame Katrina related insults they thought appropriate during the NFC Championship game 7 years ago. The thing … [Read more...]

Eagles Chick’s Week 3 NFL Picks

chiefs-eagles-football

Note to Eagles fans: the Chiefs are not the Redskins or the Chargers. In fact, although it's early on, their defense is looking outstanding and continued to do so last night. It pained me to watch what they did to my Eagles in Andy Reid's epic return, but I can't say I didn't see it coming. Thanks to Reid, the Chiefs are playing smart, disciplined football on either side of the ball (kind of like the Eagles used to do in Andy's early years in Philly). So yeah, the Chiefs won. Big woop. Nothing to see here. And now...the rest of the matchups: Texans at Ravens - Both of these teams are struggling more than I expected them to so far, but I give the edge to the Texans, who are at … [Read more...]
