Welcome to Buffalo, Mario!

Bills Mario Williams Football.JPEG-05d3a

It happened. Finally. It was so shocking I almost didn't believe it was real life. Then rain dripped on me on my way out the door to work and I realized this was, indeed, real life and not a dream. Which made it even more unbelievable that Mario Williams is now officially a Buffalo Bill. This is big. Not "big" like when the Bills signed Shawne Merriman and all these fans were pumped while I was more concerned with filing my nails because I just knew he would be a non factor (at least for the 2011 season). And not "big" like when the Bills landed Marcell Dareus in last year's draft and he actually turned out to be a force on D. Getting Williams to  sign on the dotted line is big in a whole … [Read more...]

NFL 2012, you are finally here

Buffalo-Bills-Logo

The new season is officially here! As soon as I woke up on Monday after the Super Bowl, I rejoiced. NFL 2011, peace out. I'd say it's been nice but I'd be lying. It was kind of nice for a little bit and then it got really bad, really fast, and I still don't think I've fully recovered. I'm ready for a fresh start and positive change. But all that is a long way off. A little more than a month until free agency chatter heats up, two months-ish until the draft, then three months-ish until preseason gets into full swing--what to do until then?! With few specifics to comment on yet, here are 8 general things I'm looking forward to about NFL 2012. 1) Getting my favs back. I've seriously felt … [Read more...]

Let’s role play

064

If you're a Bills fan and you're sick of hearing/thinking/talking about how traumatizing the season was, raise your hand. Great, me too. So let's not. Instead, let's role play. The scenario: we're in the Super Bowl, not the Patriots. Now I'll tell you what my life would be like if that were the case and then you can tell me what your life would be like in the comments section below. This is a therapy exercise. For a second, we'll experience all those sensory emotions that we've been lacking. Sidenote: Please play with me! Nobody ever likes to play with me anymore so I'll probably end up playing with myself, as usual. Get your head out of the gutter. Here I go... I'm homeless and almost … [Read more...]

The Super Bowl Is More Important Than…

wedding15_t653

...apparently a whole mess of stuff, according to the average American. And I thought it was just me and my fellow chicks who suffered from an odd, unhealthy obsession with the game. But nope, it turns out the rest of you are a bunch of weirdos, too! Hooray!! According to a survey run by CouponCabin.com (I know, I know...but just hear me out), 20% of people said they would miss a loved one's funeral if their favorite team was in the game. (Say what?!!!) 21% would miss an important work responsibility and 20 percent would miss the wedding of a close friend. (If someone cares so little about the Super Bowl that they would plan their wedding on game day, are they really worth being friends … [Read more...]

Bills Chick has one word: why?!

buffalobills.com

I missed the Bills vs Jets game so I won't pretend I'm qualified to comment on it. From what I've read, heard and seen we were [THIS] close but alas it was not meant to be. A Jets fan even said the Bills "deserved to win that" but "somehow the Jets pulled it off." What I am able to discuss is why I'm so confused. How did such a promising season turn into what it is now?! Uncertain. Random. Heartbreaking. Cursed. Well, it could have a little something to do with the massive amount of injuries that just keeps growing. In fact, I'd say that's the overwhelming reason for the recent four-game losing streak. We've got key defensive guys out with Kyle Williams and George Wilson, not to mention … [Read more...]
