This week the Eagles travel to Arizona to take on former teammate Kevin Kolb and the Cardinals. The Cardinals, like the Eagles, stand at 2-0, having just shocked the Patriots and most of the football punditry with a two point loss at home. The Eagles, meanwhile, were busy shocking the Ravens with a win after turning the ball over 9 million times (actual figure: 4). In other words, both of these teams could be in for a let down game. And the Eagles are struggling to field five offensive linemen. In the end, I think this will come down to two things: one, the Eagles D is going to make K2 miserable all day, and two, Michael Vick is getting the team to win by sheer force of will. … [Read more...]
Football Is Back…and So Is Drew!

All offseason long, the Saints have been vowing to put the ugliness of the bounty scandal and Drew Brees' contract battle behind them and get down to football when the time was right. At last night's hall of fame game against the Cardinals, they appeared to be doing just that. It was a thing of beauty to watch them storm the field again, with their heads held high. There is no doubt they're about business...perhaps now more than ever. For anyone who wondered whether Drew Brees was worth all the offseason fuss, did that first drive quiet your thoughts? ...apparently a whole mess of stuff, according to the average American. And I thought it was just me and my fellow chicks who suffered from an odd, unhealthy obsession with the game. But nope, it turns out the rest of you are a bunch of weirdos, too! Hooray!! According to a survey run by CouponCabin.com (I know, I know...but just hear me out), 20% of people said they would miss a loved one's funeral if their favorite team was in the game. (Say what?!!!) 21% would miss an important work responsibility and 20 percent would miss the wedding of a close friend.
