A New Day in D.C.??? Quite Possibly…

Skins v Giants

So…with all that’s changed in the last few weeks with this team and the miraculous win as a result of a game that we actually played well…I am hopeful. I know this is a Redskins fan’s greatest downfall, getting excited that maybe next season, we’ll have a chance. But I’ll take the risk.

2009 Week 14 Picks

So ever since King Kaufman quit writing for Salon, I’ve been looking for someone to write picks that make me laugh. I finally found him (why doesn’t it surprise me that he’s attached to the Rachel Maddow Show?)

Anywho, we’re playing the Giants. In prime time. And once again, all the sports commentators are all about the Giants, who have apparently righted their season, eaten their Wheaties, sacrificed the goat, etc., and are now going to make a triumphal run to the playoffs.

2009 Week 8: Eagles BEAT DOWN the Giants

Eagles versus Giants, Sunday, November 1, 2009Leonard Weaver

Stud of the week: It is really REALLY hard not to pick DMac, who had a pretty much perfect game (guess that rib’s feeling way better), but I have to give the shout out to Leonard Weaver, who had his biggest day as an Eagle and scored our first TD of the day, setting the G-men back on their heels. 3rd offensive play of the game for us, 41 yards, longest TD run of Weaver’s career. Good job, baby!

2009 Week 8 Picks

The Giants got off to a hot start, winning their first five games. But in that five game stretch, they beat only one team with a winning record (Cowboys) and four dogs (Bucs, Skins, Raiders, Chiefs). Don’t get me wrong, we couldn’t handle one of those dogs, so my house is far too made of glass to run around throwing stones. But since then, they’ve played two good teams – the Saints, who also beat us, but by nearly an identical margin with K2 making his very first start, and the Cards, who we haven’t faced since the damn NFC Championship game last year – and dropped both games.

Saints Facing A “Giant” Challenge: Don’t Believe the Hype

Hmm…which dramatic underlying theme shall we go with this week? “Battle of the Unbeatens!”…”Shockey’s Revenge”…”The Prodigal Manning Returns.” Oh there’s just so many to choose from. Perhaps I should really crank things up a notch like ESPN by somehow finding a way to work in a “Brett Favre is unbelievable” reference.
