But he also scored the Birds only two TDs and broke the rookie rushing record. Hey, the pickin's are pretty slim these days, y'all. I was out last night, as was Chef Spouse. Going into yesterday's Panthers game, it was easy to be a little overconfident. The Bucs had a 5-4 record, and had won four of their last five games. Running back Doug Martin was all over national sportscasts, with talking heads who usually seem to forget the Bucs exist ("Wait, you mean that team with the orange uniforms? Vinny Testeverde's team?") proclaiming the newbie as a candidate for Rookie of the Year. Saints Week 2: This Time, It’s Ridiculous

While watching the Saints' defense get dismantled by Cam Newton and the Panthers, I realized I hadn't had that much fun since that time I was at a construction site and a rusty nail went through my foot. But as painful as it was to watch, I must say I walked away from Sunday's horrid ordeal with a positive outlook. You see unlike in week 1, this week I was smart enough to stock up on both beer AND wine before the game. ...apparently a whole mess of stuff, according to the average American. And I thought it was just me and my fellow chicks who suffered from an odd, unhealthy obsession with the game. But nope, it turns out the rest of you are a bunch of weirdos, too! Hooray!! According to a survey run by CouponCabin.com (I know, I know...but just hear me out), 20% of people said they would miss a loved one's funeral if their favorite team was in the game. (Say what?!!!) 21% would miss an important work responsibility and 20 percent would miss the wedding of a close friend.
