NFL Divisional Round Recap: Ick!

I would like to extend my sincere apologies to fans of this weekend's losing NFL playoff teams for the inevitable jinx that took place when I gave your teams my support. (That excludes of course fans of the Dallas Cowboys. LOL at your misery!) You see, as a fan of the New Orleans Saints, a team that had a chance to win its division at 7-9 only to completely choke, it's obvious that the football gods pretty much loathe me and everything I support this season. And so, by supporting your teams in the playoffs, with the intent to smite their opponents, I pretty much destroyed your lives. My bad. Wanna know what hurts so much about that Patriots victory over the Ravens? It's that it played … [Read more...]

2015 NFL Playoff Hate-Off

When you're the fan of a team that doesn't make it to the playoffs, the NFL postseason can be a dark, cold and dismal place. You might find yourself tempted to send hate tweets to that running back who fumbled the ball on the goal line...or the quarterback who threw a pick 6 with victory within reach....or the kicker who freakin' shanked a chip shot that your grandmother could have hit. I mean, it was just 25 yards for the love of God. AAAAAHHH!!!!!! *Deep breaths* But there are other ways to channel all that negative energy that won't end in a restraining order. In order to survive a postseason without hope, why not focus your passions on hating all the teams that would make you just … [Read more...]

The NFC South: A Bastion of Suck

drew sack

To all the fans of teams in the NFC with winning records, on the outside of the playoffs and looking in, allow me to extend my deepest apologies on behalf of the NFC South. Because the sad reality is that a team from our division could end this season with a 6-10 record, and still make it to the postseason. In fact, an NFC South team could feasibly make it to the postseason, and as Jon Gruden so wisely pointed out during Monday Night Football game, still get a top 10 pick in next year's draft. I realize how infuriating this must be for fans of teams like the Cowboys and Lions, who may have their seasons come to an end in week 16, despite winning as many games as these NFC South suck-bags … [Read more...]

Does Saints’ Road to Playoffs Start Now?

drew panthers

Let's ignore the fact that it's week 14 for a second, shall we? That's because in many ways, the New Orleans Saints' season starts this Sunday. They are 5-7 and tied with the Atlanta Falcons at the top of the NFC South. And if they win their remaining games, their once seemingly impossible shot at the postseason will become a reality. Whoulda thunk it? I for one...didn't. After all, this team put on a lackluster prime time performance against the Baltimore Ravens at home just a few weeks ago. In fact, they went 0-3 in their middle of the season, "yeah we totally got this", home game stretch. But last week against the Pittsburgh Steelers, the Saints finally played with some passion. … [Read more...]

A Super Bowl Ticket Costs How Much???

As a reward to all you fans who faithfully support your team and spend your hard-earned money on season tickets and paraphernalia, the NFL has finally found a way to repay you for your loyalty, should your squad make it to the big game this season. They're hiking up the price of already ridiculously expensive Super Bowl tickets. Oh you reaaally shouldn't have! According to an article in the Wall St. Journal, the league is fed up with scalpers and third-party ticket websites making enormous profits off of Super Bowl ticket resales. So, instead of finding a way to stick it to the resellers, the league will instead stick it to the little guy. Here's the latest from the WSJ: According … [Read more...]
