Ravens Ray Rice Speaks Out for Bullying Victim

Baltimore Ravens QB Ray Rice could be spending his offseason basking in the warm glow of a Super Bowl victory, touring St. Tropez with hot models and popping bottles on a yacht. And who could blame him? That's what makes what he's actually doing this offseason that much more awesome. He's taking his anti-bullying campaign to a new level after being inspired by a tragic case in Pennsylvania. Bailey O'Neill, a 12 year old from a Philadelphia suburb, was beaten up by two classmates a few weeks ago. O'Neill had been in a medically induced coma until he died on Sunday. When Rice learned of the story from a fan, he decided to speak out on Bailey's Facebook wall. A few weeks ago i shared … [Read more...]

Super Bowl Blackout: You’re Welcome

Oh New Orleans, you did it again! In what would otherwise be considered a snoozer of a Super Bowl, you added a little color. (What? Black is a color!) Without that bizarre power outage in the dome in the 3rd quarter, the highlight of the game would have been Jacoby Jones' touchdown dance a.k.a The Beanie Weenie. I mean, I guess the touchdown itself was cool but the dance? That was just stellar. It seems like when the lights went out in the dome, all the energy transferred to the 49ers. Up until then, they couldn't move the ball or stop the Ravens. After the blackout, they scored 17 unanswered points. It finally gave us fans what we had been waiting for: a competitive football game! Of … [Read more...]

Best Super Bowl Ad Teasers

Your team isn't in the Super Bowl so you could care less about the actual game. Oh wait, that's not you. It's me! Yep, this year I'll be "that chick", the one getting all geeked about the Super Bowl ads. Because let's face it, after Ray Lewis does the squirrel dance and someone botches the National Anthem, it's all going down hill. It seems like this year's crop of ads will be pretty decent. Will it top the cute Darth Vadar kid or the dude who aided and abetted his dog in the murder of a neighborhood cat? That remains to be seen. But from the looks of these teasers released by some of the biggest Super Bowl advertisers out there, we'll have plenty to giggle about this Sunday, other … [Read more...]

Chick Fight! Cowboys vs Ravens

chick fights modified

In the National Football League, teams are supported by two separate yet equally important groups of female fans. The ladies who were born loving their teams and the ones who got sucked in somehow in the prime of their lives…and never looked back. These are their stories. *Boom Boom* This week’s Chick Fight pits two die-hards against each other who haven’t always spent their Sundays watching football and yelling at the TV. But even though they weren’t born addicted to the game, that doesn’t mean you should question their passion. After all, one of these ladies was recently inducted into the Guinness Hall of Fans. (Yep, that actually exists.) Before we breakdown the matchup … [Read more...]

Eagles: Finding a Way to Win

vick

Eagles v. Ravens, Sunday, September 16, 2012 If 2011 was the year of the Eagles finding a way to lose, perhaps 2012 will be the year of the Eagles finding a way to win? Stud of the week: Despite the fact that he caused one of Vick's picks by whiffing on a tough but not unmakeable catch, I have to go with Brent Celek, who had an otherwise outstanding game, with 8 catches for 157 yards. Also, hurdling Ed Reed is personal highlight reel material. And he had the stones to pop back up and do his first down signal after taking a huge hit from Bernard Pollard that should've drawn a defenseless receiver penalty. Gotta love DJax taking a huge hit from Ed Reed and shrugging it off. And … [Read more...]
