Hit It and Quit It, Fins Fashion

Miami 20 – Houston 27
Dolphins Chick is sick. Really. Not just sick because of the Dolphins, but sick.
This is going to be a short column this week. Not really a lot worth saying, anyway.
Hit It: Lex Hilliard. Lex, I think you’re the only guy I’m going to pat on the back this week. You played a full game. You’re probably the only guy who could say that on Sunday. Passing game: 9 catches (the most by any Dolphin), 74 yds , 1 TD. Running game: 3 carries, 12 yards, and 1 TD. Not a bad game, rookie.
Week 16, Miami vs. Houston: Failure! Mission Aborted!
Miami 20 - Houston 27
Houston, we have stop! Critical Failure! The Miami Dolphins will not launch themselves into the playoffs. Instead, they’ll remain grounded. Mission aborted!
What a digusting 1st half of football! Miami gave up over 300 yards to Houston’s offense, allowing Schaub to connect on 14 of 18 passes, 247 yards, and 2 TDs. The Miami offense gained only 107 yards, and the running game was never established. The Dolphins defense was sleeping like Rip Van Winkle….(that’s a really long time). We went down 27-0, and trailed at the half 27-3. I was ready to go spend my afternoon doing something other than watching my team lose. But, I decided to give the Dolphins some time to turn it around.
Week 16, Miami vs. Houston: Houston, We Have A Problem!
Okay, first off, let me state that I put off writing this piece. I wanted to savor every bit of my Christmastime by pushing aside the thought that the Dolphins had a football game to play on Sunday. Oh, I had all kinds of fun. I was wrapped in comfort and joy. I was showered with blessings. I even snagged a bargain yesterday on a pair of gray cords. But that was yesterday. Today is a whole ‘nother ball game! Suddenly, my hands are shaking, my head is spinning, and my heart is racing. My french toast is turning about in my stomach. The Dolphins are playing a game today. Oh my! Houston, we have a problem!

Sad there’s not enough news on your team? You have the power to change that. We’re looking for a few good chicks to contribute to the site. If you’re obsessed with all things pigskin, drop us a line.
Well that was…
a) Unexpected
b) Exciting
c) Infuriating
d) REALLY infuriating
e) All of the above
I’d probably choose e, although it’s hard to think of another loss and an 0-2 start to the season as exciting. I cannot believe that this week’s game turned out the way it did. Not just the loss, but the score.
34-31? I expected a high score out of the Saints/Eagles game, but not the Titans/Texans. Last week, Tennessee scored 10 points and Houston scored 7. This week, one team scored 17 points in a quarter. I don’t know whether to be thrilled about our offensive output or ashamed by our defense’s feeble attempts to stop Matt Schaub and Andre Johnson (both of whom had terrific games).
