Hit it and Quit It…Colts Edition!
So there’s not much to quit after that 20-3 whooping the Colts put on the Ravens but I’ll give it a shot.
Hit It:
- Peyton Manning and the Colts shook off that bye week curse.
- Ed Reed had two interceptions taken away from him: 1 by Pierre Garcon.
- Fewest points allowed by the Colts in the postseason since the 1971 Divisional playoffs vs. the Browns.
- The Ravens lost their eighth straight game vs. the Colts.
- Ray Rice was held to 67 yards and fumbled!
- The Jets rematch is next.
Quit it:
Ravens vs. Colts Recap: Eight (and Counting) is Enough!
Best quote I heard about this game. When the Ravens defense is *messing* up…it’s a WRAP. Well EXCUSE me Colts! So much for that rust I talked about! I stand corrected. The Colts came to play Saturday night and boy did they?! Peyton Manning and the Colts defeated the red hot Baltimore Ravens 20-3 and now must sit and wait for their AFC Championship opponent. This game marked the first time Manning won a playoff game after a first-round bye.
2009 Divisional Weekend Preview
It’s hard to be as excited about the games now that we’re out of it. On the other hand, I’ll experience far fewer yelling-induced headaches this weekend. So that’s good. Anyway, on to the picks….
Ravens/Colts – I think the Ravens left it all on field last week. And it was totally worth it. But the Peytonator takes no prisoners. Well, until the Colts play the Chargers. But that’s not happening this week, so, much as I wish it was otherwise, I think the Colts are going to win this one.
2009 Wildcard Weekend Preview
I think this is the first time in NFL history that the first weekend of the playoffs will feature 3 repeat matchups from the last weekend of the regular season. I’m not sure what that means, but there you have it.
Eagles/Cowboys – Well, there’s been the usual Philly sports media tempest in a teapot about McNabb’s recent comments. What did he say that was so horrible? Quoting Philly.com:
That’s It. The Bears Are On The Naughty List.
It was a blessing in disguise that I spent last week in Philidelphia, where the local networks opted to air the mildly interesting Eagles/49ers game instead of the pathetic and boring Bears/Ravens game. I can’t imagine why the East Coast isn’t interested in watching the glorious football organization known as the Chicago Bears. Oh wait, yes I can. We are embarassingly awful. That’s why!
