Miami 22 – New England 21. Feels so good to see it in print!

I have to admit, even though I had cast my cares aside and begged Santa for help, I didn’t have a lot of faith that I’d have a happy ending. When the Dolphins quickly fell down 14-0, I was ready to kiss the season goodbye. Same old Dolphins. Same old Patriots. Right? Well, I’m happy to say that I was wrong! We WON! All is right with the world. At least until next Sunday…

The Dolphins had to prepare to play Carolina on Thursday night without one of their biggest threats–Ronnie Brown needed surgery! When I found out about losing Ronnie, my game outlook was nothing but black clouds on the horizon.  I was sure someone else was going to get hurt, and worried it would be Ricky.  Thankfully, Ricky left the game in one piece and his performance could not have been better!  And how did Thursday night end for me after the big win? I was dancing in my bedroom shouting “Go Ricky! Three touchdowns!… Go Ricky! Three touchdowns!” and singing “Hey, Ricky, you’re so fine, you’re so fine you blow my mind, hey Ricky!”  A short night’s rest didn’t derail my high.  The next morning, I was still so hyped that a co-worker asked if I had eaten too much sugar.  Fast forward to Monday night and I’m still seeing nothing but blue skies!

Week 11, Miami at Carolina: Ricky Williams Makes A Big Splash!

Ricky Carolina

Hey, Ricky, you're so fine!
(Joe Rimkus, Jr./Miami Herald)

I feel good! And no, I can’t say, “I knew that I would.” When I read the news about Ronnie Brown being out for the season, I was scared. A week without Ronnie? Sure. The rest of the season without Ronnie? No way!! I even had a bag of peanut M&M’s handy which I only half-jokingly called my “emergency disaster packet.” I was ready for disappointment and prepared for pain.
