Sooo…That Was Embarrassing…
In case you haven’t heard, the Pittsburgh Steelers lost their fourth straight game to the Oakland Raiders this Sunday. Yep, I still haven’t been able to wrap my mind around this one, either. In true Steelers fashion, the defense wasn’t able to hold the Raiders offense during the fourth quarter…when it mattered most.
All Steelers fans must have felt the same way when Oakland WR Louis Murphy made a reception for a TD with nine seconds left — how on earth did that just happen? How could they have possibly blown yet another lead? QB Bruce Gradkowski, who went to Seton-La Salle in Pittsburgh, threw for a career-high 308 yards in what’s becoming one of the most mind-blowingly awful defenses in all of the NFL.
Bucs vs. Saints Recap: QB-of-the-Future
You know, it did a heart good to see the Bucs’ QB-of-the-Future out there on the field this Sunday. He took charge, he made plays, he inspired confidence his team. It’s the kind of performance that made you think, hey, now that was a great draft pick. Some might have doubted his talents and thought he was too much of a project, but he just went out there and led his subpar team to a W. What more can you ask for.
So I’d just like to say a special thanks to you, Bruce Gradkowski. You really made this team…
Final Cuts and More
The Bucs announced their final roster cuts on Sunday, but I think we can expect more change a’coming considering how light the Bucs are on secondary and receiver. Nothing too shocking out of the cuts themselves, but here’s a brief rundown of the past few days:
Biggest disappointments: Preseason fan favorites, running back Kareem Huggins and Tampa native wide receiver Patrick Carter were axed in the final cuts…
Or not: …but both were added to the practice squad.
