2009 Wildcard Weekend Preview
I think this is the first time in NFL history that the first weekend of the playoffs will feature 3 repeat matchups from the last weekend of the regular season. I’m not sure what that means, but there you have it.
Eagles/Cowboys – Well, there’s been the usual Philly sports media tempest in a teapot about McNabb’s recent comments. What did he say that was so horrible? Quoting Philly.com:
The Little Cheeseheads that Could

Though the 9-4 Green Bay Packers are on a five game winning streak and the Steelers are on a five game losing streak, the former Super Bowl champs are still a very capable and challenging team. They rank ninth in the league in total offense and fourth in defense. Ryan Grant will have a tough time putting up big numbers like he did against the Bears, as the Steelers are first in defense against the run.
All I Want For Christmas Is A New Head Coach
The Chicago Bears’ Lovie Smith is none of the above. Yesterday’s game against the Green Bay Packers was an absolute embarassment to our establishment. Our quarterback and recievers have talent–but the coaching staff don’t know what to do with it.

Saints Chick Chattin: Punter Thomas Morstead

Thomas Morstead and the Mother Hen at the Big Night Out
Wow. What a week. I almost feel like the social secretary for the chicks as my entire week has been filled with nothing but S-A-I-N-T-S. And, that is how it should be during this fine, festive time of year.
Wednesday, I had the pleasure of chatting with Thomas Morstead, our punting phenom. Morstead, a rookie from Pearland, Texas was voted Special Teams Player of the Week during week 11 in the Saints game against Tampa Bay. For the season, he is tied for third in the NFL with 18 touchbacks.
Packers Gobble Up the Lions
This Thanksgiving the Green Bay Packers had a lot to be thankful for—namely, Donald Driver, Charles Woodson and Aaron Rodgers. The trio led the Packer to a 34-12 victory over conference rivals the Detroit Lions and are making waves in the playoff pool with each additional win. Merely three games ago the Packers were on the verge of chalking up this season as a bust, but with big wins over Dallas, San Francisco and now Detroit, the Packers are back in action.
The Packers’ slow start on Thursday led to Detroit early game lead. Jordy Nelson fumbled away the opening kickoff and the Lions took advantage of the short field with a quick and easy score.
