This is for My No. 1
Shouts out to the phenomenal Nola Chick, who got the hook up for me to shoot the breeze down in Miami with the league’s most sought after recruit last year — I couldn’t grab my bikini fast enough! Well, it didn’t go exactly like that, but I did enjoy a brief chat with Matt Stafford, Detroit Lions QB, and well, I gotta say…he let his hair down a little bit, surprisingly.
Upcoming: Staff One-on-One
Yea, so I know I’m kinda hard on the Kid, but today I’m super excited to let you all know about my exclusive (isn’t that the term you’re supposed to use to seem all important?) interview with Lions QB MATT STAFFORD.
Yes, the Matt Stafford who led us to our first victories in over a year. The richest rookie in the NFL.
I’ll find out how he’s celebrating his 22nd birthday this week! (See why I call him a kid?)
I’ll see how he’s diggin the lovely ladies of the D…
And we’ll talk about the goodies he has to give away as well! Nola Chick and I will have details on how YOU can score some cool gear in a few.
Doing What’s Right
Just wanted to take a second to highlight when my team does something good! (Cuz you know I’m good for telling all the other stuff). The Lions announced that they have made a $10,000 donation to the American Red Cross International Relief Fund in an effort to aid the victims of the earthquake in Haiti.
The donation will be made in the name of the three Lions’ players of Haitian descent: DE Cliff Avril, Tackle Gosder Cherilus and rookie Safety Louis Delmas. Both of Cliff’s parents were born in Haiti, and Gsoder was actually born there, His charity, the Gosder Cherilus Foundation, is uniting with two other organizations to help on the ground relief efforts in Haiti.
Long Time, No Speak
I know it seems like I’ve given up on my boys.
Just because I haven’t had much to say about their spectacles, like getting that AZZ tapped 48-3 by the Ravens. Hey, we already established that the kicker was the best player on the team! He sure earned his coins last week.
Truth is, it’s kinda hard to catch Lions games in me new local viewing area…hell, in any viewing area, really. But seriously, I took a look at the Injury Report today and felt compelled to speak out.
HOW U LIKE ME NOW?
Soooo of course I was at work all day yesterday and completely missed the game.
But I hear my boys did their thing! (No, not that thing where the Kid with the Golden Arm throws hella INTs and they eventually lose.)
I mean, they came from behind, fought to the literal last second, (0:00), and pulled out a W!
Seriously folks, that’s cause for football fans everywhere to raise their glasses in celebration.
