Wake Me Up Before You Go Go: Packers Come Up Short

While starters for both teams stayed on the sidelines, the 2nd and 3rd string teams were left to battle it out in this Preseason finale. With roster cuts due August 31st at 6:00pm, this was the chance for players in the balance to make one final impression and hopefully make the 53-man team. This is very important for the players, but for the fans (myself more specifically), nothing could be more uneventful. However, there were some points worthy of discussion… In the first play of the game, starting cornerback Tramon Williams intercepted a pass thrown by Chase Daniels. Williams was held out for the entire preseason due to a bruised bone. I am hoping that this play is a sign that he … [Read more...]

Replacement Ref-Gate:The Pain Returns

I think that I should start this article with a disclaimer…I am NOT speaking for all Green Bay Packers fans. I am only speaking for myself. With that being said, Friday’s game against the Seattle Seahawks was personal for me. I’m pretty sure that everyone remembers the Seattle Seahawks “victory” against the Packers last season...the Hail Mary on the final play that was ruled to be a simultaneous catch by Seahawks Wide Receiver Golden Tate. The motions of the Replacement Referees still resonate in my mind from that controversial game, and a revenge victory was simply befitting. However, with a 17-10 loss in the books, it’s clear that things didn’t quite go our way. The only solace I … [Read more...]

Hey, Chicks! Like Packers Chick, I know I have a little preseason 'splaining to do. If you've noticed a lack of Bucs updates this offseason, that's because I've been occupied with a big move. In the country I now call home (at least for the year),  people seem to think a football is round. And that the game of football involves manipulating the ball primarily with one's foot. I mean, really now. So, while I am abroad, I will be covering football américain, and specifically les Boucaniers, to the best of my abilities. I hope to be able to provide the same weekly coverage as I have in past years, but if not I will try to at least keep you chicks up to date on the latest Buc … [Read more...]

Listen up…

BillsChick has been pretty quiet over here during the preseason. Here's why. -It was hard to post at work and then my brain was fried when I got home...but now I have a computer from this decade so we're back in action. -I haven't been paying too close attention to preseason gossip and games. It's for my sanity and yours. You all know my demeanor during the season so I felt it absolutely necessary to preserve my mental state for as long as possible. Don't worry, I'm still your trusty, a-little-too-hardcore BillsChick deep down, it's just not the right time to shine through yet. -Even though I haven't been using up energy to analyze the preseason on here, that doesn't mean I've been … [Read more...]

The Word on Wes Welker

February 3, 2010 will be a date to remember- for all the wrong reasons. The Patriots lost their last game of the season to the Houston Texans in what was a closely fought game. The worst part wasn’t that we dropped 21 points in the 4th quarter, or that we played so erratically I almost got whiplash. It wasn’t even that this game was a foreboding sign for the upcoming post-season. The worst moment of the game was when Wes Welker went down untouched after making a cut. There was no one around him, and his knee just gave out. I immediately knew it was bad, just didn’t know how bad. And watching him on the bench with the towel over his head… heartbreaking. He’s a competitor at heart, … [Read more...]
