Chicken Soup for Al Davis’ Soul & Raider Hater-Aid
With watching the latest Raider saga unfold these last couple of weeks regarding the replacement of Coach Lane Kiffin with Tom Cable, I started thinking about Al Davis, who at times just can’t stick with his main man. He and Lane had such a nasty, public break-up, possibly a victim of their May-December relationship. Not that I want to get all touchy-feely about him, but do you think Davis just might need to read a self-help book every once in a while? Maybe he needs to examine his feelings and try to understand why he cannot make a commitment. Are his partners too young for his mature ways? He seeks to control his relationships. Had he previously gone for someone a little closer to his generation, could we be looking at Super Bowl contenders this Sunday?
In the end, it probably did not matter. In order for Davis to find the right head coach, he must learn that in order to make a commitment to others, you must first start with making a commitment to yourself. So I, Mother Hen, humbly present to you this week a slightly cannibalistic dish, Chicken Soup for Al Davis’ soul.
