Roman Harper: Let There Be Hope

Instead of focusing my energies on the sad reality that the Saints have under a week to reach a contract deal with quarterback Drew Brees, and that the guy who should be getting them ready for preseason is getting his freak on in the Bahamas, I'll allow myself to saunter off into a much healthier space. This week, my happy place is moving away from the Big Easy to, of all places, Montgomery, Alabama. That's where Saints Safety Roman Harper will help make the hurt go away. Harper is hosting his 3rd annual "Sainted Weekend: Mentoring Youth to Strengthen Families”. The weekend will feature a Kid’s Fun Day, Youth Leadership Dinner, Celebrity Cocktail Reception & Silent Auction and Celebrity … [Read more...]

Chicks Chattin’ with (the sexy) Darren Sharper

I have barely hung on this summer with the lack of training camp, appearances, and all the goodies that the offseason offers. Friends have tried to entice me with baseball, but since I don’t recognize it as a sport, I cannot willingly watch something that boring (this includes golf as well). Hell, I found myself watching Canadian football earlier this summer. That’s like switching out Jerseylicious for Toddlers and Tiaras. Desperate for football and Saints players, I headed over to the Sharper-Harper Football Camp to check out their clinic for local kids at East Jeff High School earlier this week. The CBA and free agency were on everyone’s minds. Although both Sharper and Harper are … [Read more...]

PTSD: Post Traumatic Saints Disorder

Over the last couple of days, I have heard a bevy of complaints, afflictions, and downright depression from Saints fans. It seems that our loss to the Sea-hags spurred this infliction. If you suffer from any of the following, you may be suffering as well from PTSD, otherwise known as Post Traumatic Saints Disorder: 1.       You have an uncontrollable urge to travel back in time, make your groceries at a local Schwegmann’s, decorate one of their brown paper bags with tears, and place it on top of Roman Harper’s head. 2.       You are thankful that we are not going into the next round of playoffs without one healthy single running back. That would not be pretty. 3.       You find … [Read more...]

Saints Chick Chattin’: Deuce is Back and a Chat with Charles Grant

After a long self-imposed computer hiatus (actually it was the computer and Mercury Retrograde attacking me—I can sound like a New Age hippie during my weaker moments), I am back up and running with lots to fill my little chicks on. Our Darling Deuce has returned. The Saints re-signed nine-year veteran earlier today after placing defensive end Rodney Leisle on IR. Sports Illustrated is reporting that McAllister practiced today at the Saints Metairie facility and could be activated for tomorrow's game with the Cardinals. Even if he doesn't play, the fact that he will serve as an honorary co-captain is enough for any Saints fan to go insane inside the Dome. I wonder how the Cardinals feel … [Read more...]
