Wake Me Up Before You Go Go: Packers Come Up Short

While starters for both teams stayed on the sidelines, the 2nd and 3rd string teams were left to battle it out in this Preseason finale. With roster cuts due August 31st at 6:00pm, this was the chance for players in the balance to make one final impression and hopefully make the 53-man team. This is very important for the players, but for the fans (myself more specifically), nothing could be more uneventful. Packers Pink Slip: “Beat” Me in St. Louis

One of the many things that I love about football is how quickly things can change. A blowout can turn into a one-possession game in what seems like a blink of an eye. Status can also change…one injury and the backup Quarterback can become a Franchise Player (just watch Any Given Sunday…or better yet, last year’s Super Bowl). At the end of the day, the players are all employees…and they always stand the chance of being promoted or losing their jobs.
